In this workshop, students will learn about the basic fundamentals of Six Sigma. A topic that businesses consider an critical part of their strategic vision. Our facilitator, Peg Pennington, will discuss how and when companies apply the principles and provide examples of successful implementation of Six Sigma strategies.

This workshop is intended for those interested who would like a board overview of the Six Sigma concepts.

Jim was director of manufacturing for Caterpillar, Inc. He was a career employee of Caterpillar, beginning in 1973 and worked in the areas of manufacturing, engineering, quality control, supply-chain and purchasing. He led the development and global deployment of the Caterpillar Production System and conducted training sessions related to CPS in Europe, Asia, South America and North America. In addition, he directly managed a $1+ Billion cost structure with over 2,000 employees; and was responsible for the acquisition of a foreign hydraulics company of which he managed the negotiation, due diligence and integration.

Holi is a spring festival, also known as the festival of colors or the festival of love. It is an ancient Indian religious festival which has become popular in many parts of South Asia, as well as people of other communities outside Asia. The Fisher Indian Students Association (FISA) will be holding a grand Holi party. There will be dry and water based Holi colors, snacks and some amazing Bollywood Music! Come and experience the Indian culture through this celebration. Jodi Glickman, (entrepreneur, author of “Great on the Job”, public speaker and consultant) trains MBAs across the country how to be effective during the summer internship. Her book “Great on the Job” is the framework for this seminar, and she focuses on critical internship skills like meaningful communication, managing expectations, asking for help (while sounding smart), and getting good assignments. She offers clear examples of how students must be conscious that each decision and impression they make on the internship can affect the desired outcome: getting an offer.

Fisher College of Business holds a special Spring Pre-Commencement Ceremony for graduate students, separate from the OSU Commencement Ceremony. It is a unique time for Fisher graduates to be recognized by administration, faculty, and peers for their accomplishments and successes.

The ceremony consists of a keynote speaker, honor cord recognition, award presentations, and a student photo slideshow. The ceremony will last for about 2 hours.
